Essential Oils 101

Essential oils have been utilized for their therapeutic and wellness benefits for thousands of years. Essential oils are multi-purpose and can be used for a variety of uses, including: medicinal, skin and body care, aromatherapy, cooking, and household cleaning product. The chemistry of essential oils is organic and naturally occurring, as essential oils are extracted from the stems, roots, leaves, petals, bark, and peels of whole food. Essential oils offer anti-microbial, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties and chemical constituents. These aspects make essential oils a safe, effective, and therapeutic option to creating a healthy life for yourself and your family naturally.

aromatic

Aromatic application means inhalation of essential oil through a fine mist or a diffused vapor, or inhaling the volatile chemicals that evaporate from the oil. This triggers the olfactory and limbic systems to have a direct impact on memory, cognition, mood, emotion, and hormones.

topical

Topical application places the oil directly on the skin, hair, nails, or other parts of the body, typically applying the oil on the area of concern or  with a specific intention. Essential oils are often diluted with a carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil, to prevent skin irritation from occurring.

internal

Internal application means to internally ingest specific essential oils, either directly under the tongue, in a capsule form, or diluted in water or or other liquid. Internal ingestion is very therapeutic and very effective for helping the body detoxify, clear, and metabolize toxins and irritants stored in the body.
